Carl Larssons light and airy watercolors of domestic bliss are what make him one of Swedens most beloved artists. Larssons late nineteenth-century paintings are filled with warmth, and his love for family is apparent in his gentle touch, especially in the series A Home. Rosy-cheeked children picnic in the sunshine, dress up in costumes, or take a turn on a fishing line, all in perfect harmony with their surroundings. Even the family dog naps without interruption in a sunlit drawing room. The twelve charming artworks in this calendar, all in the collection of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, celebrate the ordinary joys of a comfortable country life.
